This weekend was the Total Health Show at the Convention Center in downtown Toronto. First time I have even been and we had a great time. We met lots of interesting people and the crowd was very diverse.
We took in a very informative lecture by Dr. Magda Havas on the role of electrosmog in illness. She pointed out the fact that EMFs are cumulative and can eventually run your system down. Therefore we need to stay healthy mentally and physically so our bodies can have a chance to recover from EMF exposure.
Dr. Magda Havas is an expert on EMFs. She works hard to create awareness of the effects of EMFs in our environment.
We stopped by her booth after the lecture to say hi! Was a pleasure meeting her in person as I have watched all her YouTube videos at least twice as they have such good information.
Sauna Ray had a many infrared saunas there. They call it the 21st century survival machine. A quality infrared sauna allows the body to detox all of the toxic chemicals we encounter everyday. Definitely of high quality as they are toxin free and low EMF well. We hope to buy one to have at home in the near future. Website: http://www.saunaray.com/
Was neat to get an Aura picture done. You get to see what colors surround you and what that means. A lot to do with our energy field. Was fun and worth the $25.00. The white ball of light over my shoulder is apparently an orb which means I have an guardian angel. Bonus!
Tried out the Bellicon rebounders which were quite nice. Way better than our cheap spring type rebounder we have at home. These have bungee cords not springs which makes it super easy on the joints and plus you can get some good air. I had heard about this brand already as the PH Miracle Center in California uses these now.
Our 6 month old, Dawson was hanging out with us at the show.
We met Shiv Chopra, who wrote a book called Corrupt to the Core, Memoirs of a Health Canada Whistleblower. I had just recently watched a interview of him by Dr. Mercola so it was neat to see him in person. He covers many important subjects around food safety. He was a scientist who was not afraid to speak out when others remained quiet. Quite an inspiration!
Anyone who is in the market for a new bed might want to investigate the potential problems of a conventional coil spring mattress involving EMF fields and RF fields. I had done some research into this as we are looking into buying a new bed and there are experts saying that its best avoid a coil spring mattress. Electric fields in the air from our homes wiring can attach onto the coils and create a voltage we then sleep on. The higher the electric fields in proximity to the bed, the higher the voltage in the bed.
Luckily there many mattresses on the market that do not have coil springs. Many are made of natural rubber/latex which eliminates the need for springs. We will be buying an organic bed to reduce chemical exposure. You can find ones that are made in such a way that they are not sprayed with flame retardants. I was told that some brands like Tempur-Pedic are full of chemicals so its best to do your homework to find out for sure if that's a bed that interests you.
Its also a good idea to buy a wood frame which reduces the amount of metal you sleep on as well.
This video was done by an electrical engineer Steven Magee and shows what kind of voltage and frequencies a coil spring mattress picks up in a typical bedroom. We can reduce our exposure by reducing the amount of electricity around the bed. This is a good idea no matter what kind of bed you have.
He has hundreds of good videos on topics like this and is a great asset for those wanting to learn the specifics about how we encounter EMFs in our homes and environment.
We have looked at some basic organic coil free beds at Dormio in Mississauga and liked their products: http://dormio.ca/default.asp
We also looked at the Samina bed which we would love to buy if we can swing it. The Samina bed was designed in Austria. They are of a premium price but are in a league of their own. Super comfortable, metal free and premium quality. We haven't seen anything that compares to this bed. Claus, the owner of the store Pummer, is very knowledgeable on sleep systems. http://www.pummer.com/product/subcategory_view.php?subcat_id=10
Did you know that windows are the weakest point of entry for RF (radio frequency) radiation?
This video below shows how to cheaply shield your windows with plain old aluminum bug screen.
It works by reflecting the RF microwaves instead allowing them to transfer easily through the glass.
If you live in a city like Toronto, you can count on RF pollution aka electrosmog. Especially if you can look out your window and actually see a cell tower or cell antennas on top of buildings etc.
I am lucky at my home as we do not have high readings compared to some houses even though we have two cell towers within a 1/4 to 1/2 km. This is because our home is not in direct sight of the towers because of two big buildings which act as a buffer/shield to the microwaves.
You may want to pay special attention to your sleeping area as many experts say we are most vulnerable to the effects of microwave radiation during sleep. It can prevent us from repairing our bodies and going into a deep restorative sleep.
Here is a how-to video on shielding windows in your home with aluminum screen:
We have a 2012 Jeep Compass which we bought as a family vehicle with the arrival of our first child.
Like most newer vehicles it has Bluetooth. The Bluetooth streams out of the Uconnect which is the brand name for the Chrysler technology of being able to integrate your cell phone to into your cars speakers.
Having a small child in the car we did not want to have the Blue Tooth on to minimize RF (radio frequency) exposure. As for most things that are harmful to us children are most vulnerable to microwave radiation. We assumed that if we had Bluetooth off on our phones that the Bluetooth would not emit RF. However with my testing device we found that the Uconnect constantly emitted RF radiation.
I could not find a setting to disable Bluetooth on the radio/Uconnect so I called Chrysler and they said there was no way to turn it off but it would stop trying to connect to the cell phone in a few minutes. This was not the case as my tester would reveal. It appears that it never stops and keeps trying. So they were of no help.
Next I went to the dealership where we bought it and they were not sure at first how to remedy the situation and thought I might have to buy a new radio without Bluetooth. Once the tech guy got to look at it he was able to disable the Bluetooth. It is unfortunate that there is no button to disable this feature as now if we want Bluetooth to work again we have to go back to the dealer.
The cost was minimal at about $50.00.
If someone is looking to reduce their RF/microwave exposure then they have to be careful around this stuff as you may think the device has stopped to stream to the cell phone but in reality it continues on non stop.
Take a listen to what Bluetooth sounds like as it tries to pair with a cell phone.
Hopefully someone else out there who has Uconnect and wants to reduce their radiation exposure will come across this blog post.
Live blood microscopy is a unique way of looking at our blood under a microscope. We get to see the red blood cells and the plasma which the red blood cells are bathed in.
Conventional blood tests we get at our doctor do not look at the live blood cells for their shape or the fluid surrounding the red blood cell. This can give us a look into what kind of environment the red blood cell has to contend with. Is it clean, free of acid, mold or yeast? Or is it congested with the aforementioned.
If you have too much garbage so to speak around the cell, then it will have detrimental consequences for the red blood cell.
I first heard of this type of testing at a Tony Robbins health retreat about 10 years ago. I have had a handful of tests done over the years and the blood always seemed to reflect the current lifestyle I was living. Tony Robbins had been working with Dr. Robert O Young at the time and it was him who really got Tony involved in this whole Live Blood Microscopy.
The pictures I am using below in this post are from Dr. Young's website: http://www.phmiracleliving.com/
He is probably the most knowledgeable person in the world on this subject and is a good person to learn from. I buy many of his supplements from their website.
A picture of a red blood cell on the head of a pin:
What healthy blood is supposed to look like to achieve extraordinary health, energy and freedom from all sickness:
This is a person with bone cancer. Yikes that's some rough looking blood!
This is a before and after of someone who spent 30 days on the PH Miracle program to improve the quality of the blood. With quality blood, the body builds a healthy body.
I had recently decided to get mine tested. I wasn't sure where or with who because in the past I would get my blood done and it seemed that in Toronto no one was really up to speed on the subject like Dr. Young. They would always recommend a treatment that kind went against the teachings of Dr. Young.
I heard about a place in Thornhill where they performed these Live Blood Tests and gave it a try based on a referral. It called High Level Wellness and is also the office of Dr. Zolton Rona. Website: http://highlevelwellness.ca/. The person who did the test was Jan Kulhay.
I took a video of a tiny drop of my blood under a microscope. Its pretty good according to Jan but I have a few things to work on.
Recommendations from Jan my microscopist:
1. Oregano oil to kill the yeast in my blood. (Got a bottle will see if it helps.)
2. A probiotic to increase healthy bacteria. (I have always avoided probiotics because Dr. Young from the PH Miracle Center always said we do not need more bacteria in our body. He says that probiotics break down undigested meat in our intestines. The problem is our intestine is meat and long term use can damage the delicate villi of the small intestine. I got one bottle to try for a month.)
3. Drink lots water. (Got that covered as I try to get 5 to 6 liters of alkaline water every day and have been doing so for months.)
4. Cut out sugar as well to starve the yeast of the sugar they like to feed on. ( Never really ate much sugar but I can think of ways to do better on this.)
I have decided to cut out all breads with yeast, wheat and coffee and black tea to see if that helps.
I cant help but think that I still have a ways to go to in terms of how my blood looks. I am not sure why I can see light through some of the blood cells. This may mean that some of them are thin and the light passes through?? It doesn't look quite as good as the blood in the pictures above which is supposed to be the gold standard.
I will continue on, focusing still on getting in my daily dose of greens, healthy oils, sea salt, bicarbonates and exercise.
I may go back in a month or two to see if I have made any improvement in the level of yeast and uric acid crystals. I may also pursue another person to do the test to see if they have any different input.
I soldier on, trying to achieve the elusive perfect blood which will lead to perfect health.
We were never aware until recently that a baby monitor emits a high level of radiation. We had purchased one just before we had our child because we thought we definitely needed one. The one we bought was approx. $70.00 and just does sound not video. The brand is Safety 1st and we bought at Babies R Us.
The new ones have DECT which is the same technology used in newer cordless phones that most people use in their homes.
As it shows on the box it operates at a higher frequency then old technology to give interference free performance.
First off I plugged in the rechargeable unit that the parent would carry, probably on the belt as it has a belt clip. Using a microwave radiation detector we get almost 2000 microwatts per meter squared. This is at a distance of about 6 feet. That is an alarming rate for those not familiar with this reading. Similar exposure to standing outside a few hundred yards away from a cell phone tower.
I used another detection device which reads in micro watts per centimeter square. The other reading was in microwatts per meter squared. This will be needed to read such a high reading we are getting off the baby monitor. This reads at just over 10 micro watts per centimeter squared which is really high. That works out to 100,000 microwatts per square meter. The other meter only went up to 2000. That's a lot of microwave radiation to have clipped on your belt!
The other part of the monitor of course get put with the baby. I made a video (below) of this test. It also gave some high readings as well and let you hear what this radiation sounds like. When we first started talking to people in the know about this stuff, they would say things like "Don't use this device around the baby as you are microwaving your baby!" That's was a hard statement to get our head around at first. We thought it cant really be that bad and its not really the kind of frequency/radiation we would find in a kitchen microwave.
But with a little Googling it's not hard to find out that it is! Just less power. Like a really low setting on the microwave. This put it into perspective for us.
We are inundated with radiation in our environment that is the equivalent of an extra slow cook on the microwave oven. We may not heat up but there is research on rats that this stuff toxic to our cells and genes.
If someone said it's ok to stick your head in microwave because its on a super low setting and said don't worry you won't get warm. Would you do it??
With all devices that emit radiation there are concerns about having it close to a developing child. Our children always seem more vulnerable to toxins in our environment and this is no different.
We don't live in a mansion so luckily we do just fine without a baby monitor. After all don't moms have super hearing anyway?
So now we have a baby monitor in the basement catching dust. Once you feel that it's not safe to use with your own child, what do you do with it? Do we give it away or throw it out? After reading this and you still feel that it's ok to use then you can have ours. It's sad though because we have jobs to do as parents, to be the protector and provider. Ultimately lots of children may be affected by this as many parents have not looked into the possible risks or choose not to believe these risks.
Who knows what the long term affects will be. This human experiment is just starting. Some of these carcinogens in our environment take years to break us down. We all know smoking is bad but smoking may not cause cancer until 20 or 30 years out. Could this low level radiation have a similar wearing down of the body? Many expert scientists think the answer is YES.
Check out Dr. Magda Havas from Trent University. She has lots of good videos on microwave radiation on her YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/magdahavas/featured
This video below covers a few different devices and she goes over the same baby monitor we have at about the 5 min mark.
There may be no better way to provide a boost of green vegetables to your day then juicing. We try to have green juice at least 3 to 4 times a week.
Its a great way to get a huge serving of vegetables that is easy for the body to assimilate. Plus all the veggies are raw and therefore not damaged by cooking. Much of the life force of veggies is destroyed by heating.
We recently bought a new juicer call the Kempo. Its an auger type system that presses the juice out of the veggies. For many years we used the Jack Lalanne juicer we bought at Canadian Tire. It is still going strong but we like this one because its supposed to damage the juice less then the kinds that spin really fast. This results in a cold pressed juice and according to the manufacturer give you more nutrients.
Here is the spread of organic veggies. We always try to get organic as this is a concentrated amount of green so I do not want a concentrated amount of pesticides!
This is really an antioxidant blast with cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, curled parsley, cilantro, black kale, and ginger.
This will make a deep green drink which we love but if you are not used to this taste then you may want to limit the ingredients. Kale, broccoli and cilantro might be the best ones to leave out if you are just getting started with the juicing.
The thick veggies have to be diced down to fit into the juicer first. Celery and the leafy veggies fit in just fine. A small amount of ginger goes a long way.
So we are ready to go! I like to add in some of the white veggies like cabbage and cauliflower at least once a week to get some of the benefit of the these special veggies.
There is much on the internet about the benefits of juicing. Protection from many environmental stresses like toxins in our air, water and radiation like the kind from nuclear plants and wireless devices like cell phones etc.
We live in a new environment which is nothing like we evolved in. This green drink give the body a helping hand to handle all the new chemicals and lifestyle we are exposed to.
This juicer is no speed demon and if you are used to the rapidly spinning juicer this one might seem a tad painful at first. However it does get more juice out of the veggies then our old juicer also give a better quality. I used to be able to quickly make about two liters but now I am content with 1 liter due to the extra time needed.
Just about done. This Kempo juicer does a great job of getting all the juice out of the veggies. The only one it seems to have a bit of trouble with is cucumber. It can do it but I always end up with a juice build up in the chute where the plunger goes. Its good to alternate the cucumber with other veggies to prevent this. We just use less cucumber than we used to.
If your looking to maximize energy and longevity then this is a powerful alkaline elixir! All stuff we can easily get at a quality produce grocer. High in chlorophyll, vitamins and minerals. According to Dr Young at the Ph Miracle Center this green drink will help build quality red blood cells. This in turn will build a healthy body!
One thing we have found to be a result of drinking this regularly is that we never get sick. Not even a sniffle over the last few years. However this is just part of a healthy regime.
Sure it takes time to make but we have to look at the time savings of never having a person sick in our home.
We usually add some raw almond milk. We make raw almond milk which we will show in another post. This softens the flavour and it just seems more filling this way. We add one quarter almond milk to make a delicious green nut milk with just the right sweetness.
We no longer add any sweet veggies like carrot due to the high sugar content. Any more than half a carrot makes the juice almost to sweet for our preference. Same goes for fruit. We do not feel the need to add any to make the drinks taste better. The natural sugars in the green veggies seem to make it just right.
Baby watches the whole process! The good thing is he is getting the nutrients and flavours of the green nut milk through mamas breast milk. I have read that a babies taste for food are formed from the taste past on through the breast milk. We should have no trouble with the green veggies with Dawson!
I have really came to enjoy having fresh homemade raw almond milk in the fridge. Its something I always thought about making over the years but always thought it would be so much more convenient to just buy in a carton. The store bought carton is much easier but the result is so much different. Fresh raw almond milk is very good for our health compared to the store bought carton which is not raw and has little or no life force(electrical potential).
Very little equipment or skill is needed to make it happen. First off you need the right almonds.
We always use raw almonds.
Raw almonds can be tricky to find as almost all non roasted almonds say raw. Truth is all these almonds imported into Canada from the U.S. are steam pasteurized. Be careful of almond butters from the U.S. that say raw as they too have to be steamed.
I haven't tested these steamed almonds for there ability to sprout but running them through hot steam can not be good for there life energy contained in the almond.
As far as I know you have to buy almonds imported from Europe as they are not required to steam pasteurize before importing to Canada.
This bag will make one batch of almond milk.
We bought these Sicilian Raw almonds from The Big Carrot in the Danforth.
Now just soak these almonds at least 6 hours. We always do a longer (about 12 hours or more) to let the nut start to come alive. The nuts become more digestible and less acidic by soaking. They soak up quite a bit of water and if the water gets cloudy then change with some fresh water.
They will look nice and plump.
A good quality blender will be helpful but I think any blender should do the job. We have a Vitamix now but I have burned out many a cheaper blenders before we got this one.
Now add almost a liter of water. If you have a ionizer then add ionized water, and blend. It doesn't take long, maybe 15 seconds and its done.
The finer the blend the better.
Now you need to get out the strainer bag for making nut milks. This ones made of hemp and I twist the heck out of it and hasn't failed us so far.
Pour it in!
Now squeeze well. Washing hands first would be a good idea if you plan on sharing your milk!
This produces a good amount, almost a liter. Left over is a ball of almonds that I have collected out of the nut bag. We usually feed this to the squirrels which they love. Funny watching them try to carry this ball up the tree. I think there are uses for this product however if you get creative.
Now seal up airtight in a jar in the fridge and try to use up over the next few days.
We tend to mix raw almond milk in with our green juice that we make quite often to produce a green nut milk. It goes together surprisingly well.
Now fill the remainder with almond milk and enjoy good health!
This winter we took a drive up to Port Carling to check out the Samina Bed. We have been looking into some different brands of organic beds lately and this brand had caught our eye. Before heading up I had an in depth conversation with the owner Claus Pummer and liked what I heard. It seemed worth the drive (1.5 hours north of Toronto) to see his show room in Port Carling.
We made the trip with our baby who of course slept the whole way.
Claus has an awesome showroom! Very nice surprise.
The Samina bed is made in Austria and has some unique features over all other organic beds that we looked at. First off the box spring which I am laying on is all made out of individual hardwood slats that adjust to your body.
Claus says I will never have to see my chiropractor again if we buy this bed. Every night you get a spinal decompression!
A competitor of the Samina bed said the foundation is not strong so Claus had both of us stand on the wood foundation to prove otherwise.
These beds have no steel springs or metal in the foundation which is great if you are concerned about reducing EMF exposure. Apparently with all the EMFs now, having steel in you bed is bad news.
The bed also has the option to sleep grounded to the earth with the Lokosana option. This option also comes with Biomagnets.
Claus is also a sleep expert who knows his stuff on setting up your sleep environment that's conducive to a deep restful nights sleep. He gave us lots of good advice on how to configure our bedroom in such a way to mitigate EMFs. He says its extremely important to have a low EMF reading to allow your body to reach deep restful sleep.
The baby approves and we did lay in it for about 15 minutes and it felt great!
My wife Angela and Claus. It was a fun trip for a Saturday morning. Nice drive and some nice scenery.
We have not purchased as of yet and this bed is far from the cheapest (over $5000.00) but it has opened our eyes to the importance of buying the right bed and creating a safe sleeping environment.
Thanks Claus, for the hospitality!!

Its amazing how may cell towers and cell phone antennas are in the city of Toronto. Especially driving along the 401 you see one after another. Its alarming just how densely covered the city is in cell phone radiation. Many refer to this blanket coverage as electro smog.
The picture below is of a cell tower at Avenue Rd and 401 area. Just driving around Toronto we can see many towers and antennas on roof tops. It seems you can never really escape the radiation from the overlapping of so many towers.
A video about how I got interested in cell phone towers/EMFs. I am no expert by any means but have spent many a hours looking into this and wish you well on your journey/learning!
Many experts on this subject really think that cell towers should not be in close proximity to where people live. These towers constantly emit high radiation levels that penetrate right into peoples homes. This can lead to various health effects in some people.
This video shows how we can make the invisible visible with the right detection equipment. Keep in mind that the levels that some scientists feel is safe is 1 or less especially in the area where you sleep. Experts say in order for the body to regenerate we need deep restful sleep and high radiation levels may interfere with this. Here we have 600 -700 range and varies as you move around the parking lot.
From what I understand the radiation is the same as what you find in your microwave but just a lesser amount. You may not cook or heat up but this cant be good for our bodies! The government body called Industry Canada sets the limits on the radiation exposure for us humans. They only look at the heating effects of the radiation. If it does not heat you up then they say you are ok! The limits they say are safe are way higher than what we are reading here.
I think at the cellular level our bodies are sensitive machines and each cell has its own electrical charge. This radiation cannot be good for us.
A video of some of my concerns for having such a thick layer of radiation around us at all times.
If you see one of these out your window then you might want to get educated on what some of the experts that study this stuff for a living are saying. I would personally want to move and give some distance and or buy some shielding products that can go on your windows or walls to shield from the radiation. Each home or apartment may get different readings so you really have to test to see what the readings are.
Keep in mind cell tower radiation transfers easier through a window then a wall.
The local buildings and homes might want to get a professional to check out their exposure.
Talk about thick electro smog. Just looking across the parking lot from the cell tower is another apartment building with cell antennas on the roof. These buildings are getting it from all angles.
This again is the building that has the towers on top of its roof. I took a walk a few hundred yards towards Avenue Road to see which apartment had the antennas.
I wonder do any of the tenants know that there are cell antennas on the roof? Its not something most people give much thought to.
If you look up on this building you can see the antennas. I wonder if some of this radiation wraps back around and goes into some of the units. No one will know for sure unless they test with special equipment.
I wonder how much this apartment owner gets paid to have these antennas on the roof and is it worth the chance of exposing their tenants to microwave radiation?
Associate Professor of Environmental and Resources Studies, Magda Havas from Trent University, is an expert in this field. Visit her YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/magdahavas. She has lots of interesting videos here on radiation exposure and the risks. When I first became more aware of EMFs, all arrows seemed to point back to Magda Havas.
There are good reputable companies in the GTA that can come to your home and test for exposure to microwave radiation and give you shielding solutions if you are concerned about the levels.
I had my own home tested by a company called EMF solutions. Check them out at http://www.emfsolutions.ca/index.php Most of the focus seemed to be on the dirty electricity side of the equation and less with actual shielding from the cell tower radiation in our neighborhood. It was a good visit and they did provide us with some filters for our plugs to reduce the dirty electricity in our home and a written report.
It was another stepping stone which took us to the next company called Safe Living Technologies. Their website is http://www.slt.co/ This is where we bought our radiation testing equipment. They also do home inspections and are very professional as they have spent lots of time on the phone with me over various EMF concerns I had. They are very helpful in informing of how to shield our sleeping area from radiation and electric fields. They have some very high standards which I like. Check out their media page as there are lots of good videos!
Once we are aware of what we are dealing with its easy to take action and maybe improve your current or long term health.
